SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon wins in the ratings

Limang shows sa ABS-CBN Primetime Bida ang nasa Top Five most-watched shows nationwide ayon sa inilabas na ratings ng TNS Media Research para sa araw ng Tuesday, February 17. Ang SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon ay nakakuha ng 29.5 ratings sa ikalawang gabi nito at ngayon ay nasa ikalimang pwesto sa ranking. Kabilang pa rin sa Top Five ang mga teleseryeng Tayong Dalawa at I Love Betty La Fea at ang news program na TV Patrol World. Samantala, nasa #1 spot pa rin ang May Bukas Pa na sa ikawalang pagkakataon ay nagkamit ng 40% ratings. Habang nananatiling malakas sa Top Ten ang Pinoy Fear Factor na ngayon ay nasa finale week na. February 17, 2009 (Tuesday).

‘Ruffa and Ai’ starts off with a star-studded premiere

ABS-CBN’s newest morning talk show Ruffa and Ai made its premiere telecast last February 16 with an impressive line-up of powerhouse guests like KC Concepcion, Sarah Geronimo, comedian Pooh, and Gabby Concepcion. Hosts Ruffa Gutuierrez and Ai-Ai de las Alas introduced first guest KC Concepcion who brought gifts of good luck like salt, sugar, and rice. When Ruffa prodded KC on what she did last Valentines Day, the latter just smiled, which prompted Ruffa to joke, "Alam ko may pinadala yung kapatid ko (referring to Richard Gutierrez) sa iyo, pero hindi na kita ibubuking.”Gabby Concepcion later talked about how he takes care of his one-year-old baby Sam. He then wowed the audience with some snazzy swing moves with Wowowee’s Saicy Aguila. When Ai-Ai cut in to dance with the former matinee idol, her slipper slipped off, prompting Gabby to say as he helped her put it back on, "Ikaw ata Cinderella ng buhay ko, ako pa nagsuot ng tsinelas mo." When asked if he would agree to a kissing scene with the Comedy Concert Queen if ever they have a movie together, Gabby immediately said, “Siyempre hindi ako papayag na wala.”Sarah Geronimo performed "You Changed My Life," after which the Pop Star Princess sat down with the hosts to talk about the changes in her life ever she got partnered with John Lloyd Cruz. "Siyempre mas blessed ako ngayon kasi after nung success nung movie. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam na madami kaming pinasayang mga tao," Sarah admitted. Sarah also talked about her pet dogs before the hosts surprised her with a mini-doggie fashion show. "Ang gaganda. Pang-mayaman ang mga aso," Ai-Ai commented.Sarah also showed her talent for playing the piano. "Actually nag-aral lang ako for the concert kaya kaunti lang yun," she explained. The singer-actress also shared details for her series of shows abroad called Sarah Geronimo: The Next One US Tour with guests Mark Bautista, Charlie Green and Billy Crawford. Is Igi Boy, son of Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen courting Maja Salvador? Talks have it that Igi is eyeing the young actress and has been sending text messages. “He just texted me like he was asking if it was my number. But I didn’t reply. Hindi naman sa dedma ako, pero, hindi talaga ako pala-reply.” Maja says it’s not the looks, but the person’s character. “Kung masaya ok, kung napapatawa ang tao. Hindi po naman kami nagkita ng personal. He has not also invited me out for a date.” Maja remembers seeing Igi Boy way, way back. “I was then only around 15 years old. Kumain kami sa labas kasama ang manager ko.”
Dina finds Kristine nice
Dina Bonnevie says she has nothing against Kristine Hermosa, rumored girlfriend of her son Oyo. “I have nothing against Kristine. She’s a beautiful person inside and out. She’s nice. She’s very, very sweet. Ang ayoko lang, kasi may nangyaring gulo. Somebody confronted Oyo ‘Hoy asawa ng kaibigan ko yan.’ So iwas gulo na lang. I told Oyo, ‘Baka mapatay ka pa.’ Huwag mong pakialaman ang hindi sa yo.”
Dina said Kristine frequents their house. “Kristine comes around but they are good friends. Maybe for a while they were going out. Magkaibigan sila.”
Proud Mama Camille
Camille Prats’ baby boy Nathan celebrated his first birthday at Blue Leaf Pavilion in Taguig. Celebrities and their children attended the star-studded affair like Danica and Mark Pingris, Tanya Garcia, Mylene Dizon, and Carlene Aguilar. Also present were John Prats and Shaina Magdayao. Camille told everyone baby Nathan is smart. She might allow him to do commercials and TV shows when the right time comes. “Kung talagang hilig niya, wala akong magagawa.”
Camille also revealed their plan to build their dream house. “That’s why we’re saving money.We want to build our dream house.”
Diether’s girlfriend
Diether Ocampo looked happy and healthy during the charity event he tendered for cancer patients. The hunk is now open about his new girlfriend Rema Lorza and it won’t be long that he will have to introduce his new girl to the public. “I asked her if it’s okay to introduce her one of these days. And she said, yes, when the right time comes.”
Diet also talked about his annulment case with Kristine Hermosa. “I am praying for positive results.” He also said he and Kristine are now friends. “I’m happy for you, you’re happy for me. Let’s all be happy.”

Wowowee continues to rule noon time viewing

Does the bracelet mean anything?

As you must have heard by now, Dingdong Dantes gave Marian Rivera a diamond bracelet (carats not revealed) last Christmas and she in turn gave him an expensive Omega watch. They wear their gifts like feathers on their caps.
Marian showed Funfare the bracelet during lunch at the newly-opened Via Mare restaurant (on Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City) yesterday where she and movie writer Ernie Pecho, so to speak, smoked the peace pipe. Ernie called Marian “tupperware” (plastic) during the Desparadas 2 presscon in December last year, driving her to tears.
Still and all, Marian (whose new GMA TV starrer with Dingdong, Carlo J. Caparas’ Ang Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang, kicked off last Monday night with a high rating) insisted that the bracelet doesn’t mean that she and Dingdong are “an item,” admitting that even if they are both free/eligible, “We just want to enjoy each other’s company; nakakalabas naman kami, kumakain kami,” but they are not committed to each other...yet?
Is it then only a matter of time before they go beyond being, ehem, just “special friends?”
“I don’t know,” Marian said, then laughed and laughed, covering her face with the right hand on which she wears the bracelet.
For the nth time, Marian said that she didn’t “steal” Dingdong from Karylle.
“I know the real story. I happened to be the woman closest to Dingdong because of our work, so people suspected that I caused the break-up. Alam ni Kaye na hindi ko inagaw sa kanya si Dingdong.”
Has she crossed paths with Karylle?
“Not yet. It’s not true that we are avoiding each other. I have no problem with Kaye.”
The feeling seems to be mutual.
When Karylle saw Ernie Pecho at the S magazine luncheon the other day, she told him, “Give (Marian) a chance.” Told about it, Marian was touched. “Wow, thank you naman,” she smiled.
Incidentally, one of Marian’s ardent admirers is Carlo Joseph (CJ) Caparas, the handsome artistahin son of Golden Couple Carlo J. Caparas and Donna Villa. CJ was “thrilled to the bone” when he met Marian during the presscon of Ang Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang. Funfare learned that two TV networks are “interested” in CJ who would rather finish first his studies (AB Economics at Ateneo).

Sarah gusto ang pananahimik ni Rayver

Kamakalawa ang first day shooting ng You Changed My Life, ang sequel ng super hit na A Very Special Love (AVSL) nina Sarah Geronimo at John Lloyd Cruz na may February 25 playdate. Wish nitong maging maganda pa rin ang boxoffice gross ng movie at mapasaya nila ang tao.
Ano pala ang feeling niya ’pag tinanghal siyang Box-Office Queen dahil sa AVSL?
“Hindi ko sinasabing hindi big deal sa akin ’yan, kung mapunta sa akin ang Box-Office Queen title, malaki ang pasasalamat ko at okey din kung hindi sa akin ibigay. Hindi ko ma-imagine, ’di ko rin ini-expect na parang Twilight ang success ng movie,” wika ni Sarah.
Isa lang ang movie nila ni John Lloyd sa magpapa-busy kay Sarah this year. Kami ang nalula sa toxic schedule niya na ikinuwento ni Mr. Vic del Rosario. Sa March, aalis siya for a 14-city tour o seven weeks na show sa Guam, Honolulu, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Reno, Las Vegas, Chicago, New Jersey, Texas, Florida, Los Angeles, Stockton at Washington.
Bukod sa kare-release na OPM Sarah Geronimo, gagawa siya ng isang Christmas album at one pop album next year. May movie rin siya with Piolo Pascual at sa October o November, may major concert uli siya sa Araneta Coliseum.
Ibinalita rin ni boss Vic na nag-renew ang 14 endorse­ments ni Sarah at may five new en­dorse­ments ito at isa rito’y kasama ang inang si Divine Geroni­mo. May cell phone, facial, shampoo, makeup at co­logne en­dorse­­­ments ang Pop Princess.
Tinukso si Sarah kay Rayver Cruz at nakuwento nitong nagpadala ito ng flowers sa nakaraan niyang concert. Nag-text din ito noong Pasko para batiin siya. Na-excite ba siya sa mga bulaklak na ipinadala ng young actor?
“Oo naman. I’m touched. Nakakatuwa lang na ’di na kami nagkakahiyaan at nagkakailangan sa ASAP ’08. Na-realize ko ring hindi porke’t may kausap kang guy, tinitingnan mo na siya as your future spouse. Natutuwa ako sa kanya’t tahimik lang,” sabi ni Sarah.
Boto ba kay Rayver ang parents niya? Ano ang nagustuhan niya kay Rayver?
Sey ni Sarah, “Wala pa akong naririnig sa kanila at ’di rin nila ini-encourage na magpaligaw na ako at ’di pa rin ako ready. Ang nagustuhan ko kay Rayver, tahimik siya, mabait na tao, pure at pareho kami ng interest.”

Hindi mo masisisi kung ituring man ni Sarah Geronimo na isang matagumpay na taon sa kanya ang 2008. After all, naging extra busy siya. Da­lawang beses siyang nag-concert sa Ara­neta Coliseum, at pa­rehong sell out ang mga ito. Nagkaroon siya ng concert tour sa US, nakagawa ng isang block­bust­er movie at tumang­gap ng four music awards. Masisisi mo ba kung nakangiti siya habang nagsu-swimming sa kanyang bagong tayong four bedroom house sa Mindanao Avenue?
“Hindi pa po talagang completely finished pero, tinirhan na po namin. Mga kasangkapan na lamang ang kulang,” sabi niya sa thanksgiving dinner na ibinigay para sa entertainment media na ina-acknowledge niya sa malaking tulong sa tagumpay ng kanyang career.
Nung Disyembre 3 ay nagsimula na ang shooting ng kanilang balik-tambalan ni John Lloyd Cruz. Pinamagatang You Changed My Life, sequel ito ng matagumpay nilang A Very Special Love na itinuturing ng marami na pinaka-nakakakilig na pelikula ng nakaraang taon gayong wala naman silang relasyon ng kanyang kapareha at taken na ito, may girlfriend na!
Tatangkain naman ni Piolo Pascual na higitan o agawin ang naging tagumpay ng movie nina Sarah at Lloydie. Merong inihahandang pelikula na sila naman ni Sarah ang magkapareha. Knowing Sarah and her big crush on the actor, kilig na kilig sigurado ito!
Bago natapos ang 2008, ini-release ang OPM Sarah na naglalaman ng mga movie theme songs kasama na ang theme song ng Baler, ang Ngayon, Bukas at Kailanman. Ang Baler ang Metro Manila Film Festival Philippines (MMFFP) entry ng Viva Films na napiling pinakamagandang pelikula sa MMFFP ’08.
Pagkatapos ng pagpapalabas ng You Changed My Life sa Pebrero 25, tutulak pa-US ang Pop Princess para naman sa concert tour ng The Next One. Tatagal ito hanggang sa buwan ng Abril at dadalhin siya nito sa 14 cities sa Tate.
Pagbalik niya rito, limang lungsod naman sa probinsiya ang dadalawin niya at sa huling quarter ng 2009, mga Oktubre o Nobyembre, may concert na naman siya sa Araneta Coliseum.
Wala na talagang magiging panahon si Sarah sa iba pang bagay pero, wala siyang reklamo. Katu­nayan, inaasahan niyang matutuloy ang paggawa niya ng dalawa pang album at ilan pang komersyal.
